Varnell UMC’s vision is to be an anchor in the community that finds great joy in inviting everyone to be disciples of Jesus Christ with us.
Varnell UMC has been a part of northern Whitfield County, GA since 1860, though it moved to its currently location from downtown Varnell in 1985. It is known in the community as a church that is active in missions and faithful in prayer. We have active children and youth programs, and encourage our attendees to be a part of one or multiple small groups that meet throughout the week, on and off campus. Our worship focuses on praising God and engaging our hearts through a variety of styles or music and word.
In terms of mission outreach, Varnell UMC is one of the leading churches in Whitfield County. VUMC houses the largest food pantry in the north end of the county, and also hosts the largest preschool. Many full-time missionaries receive support from this congregation as well as short-term mission teams that go out from this place.
