All Sunday morning programs take place at the Varnell Church Campus at 3485 Highway 2. There are two entrances to the church property: one off Georgia Highway 2 and another off Country Way. Parking is available in four parking areas around the church facility. If you enter in the front, there is a one-way driveway that goes up to the parsonage (and the east parking lot). Prior to the beginning of each worship service, greeters are stationed at the welcome desk in the lobby to welcome and assist anyone who needs it.
Worship
We have two worship service at Varnell Church. The first service starts at 8:45 AM and it is a more of traditional style of worship service with music that consists of traditional hymns. The second service starts at 11:00 AM and is more of a blended service with a mixture of styles of music, from contemporary or gospel to traditional hymns. Late arrivals are welcome to any of our services with no fuss or embarrassment.
Pastor Chris’ preaching is rooted in scripture and relevant to contemporary life. Many times he preaches a series of sermons, but anyone can easily join in on any given Sunday. Each service lasts for about 1 hour.
On the first Sunday of every month, we serve Holy Communion as part of the worship service. We practice an “open table” where all are welcome–welcome without regard to difference. We believe this is a table where there should be no barriers to community. It is a place where we experience the love of God. So the communion table is open to all without regard to age, gender, ethnicity, intellect, and other visible things. But the invitation does ask for some self-examination.
Children are always welcome at Varnell Church! We encourage families to sit together during the worship services–toward the front, so children can be engaged. We recognize that these are busy times for families, and rarely do you have the opportunity to do something together! Mid-way through the 11 AM Sunday worship service, children (ages kindergarten through 5th grade) are invited to go participate in their own worship experience. Praize Kraize is a great time for children to grow spiritually at their own level.

Sunday School
Between our two services, starting at 9:45 AM, we have Sunday School classes available for all ages. See our Bible Study and Small Groups, Youth, and Children pages for more information.
Nursery
Our nursery is open for children (newborn – age 3) by 9:45 AM and is managed by Varnell Church staff. For safety, children are signed in and out of the nursery. Please inform our nursery staff of any concerns or allergies. All staff and volunteers undergo a national criminal background check before being approved to work or help with our children or youth.
Dress
There is no dress code for our church. Most people choose casual dress on Sundays. Like many places in life, people dress in a variety of ways. Jeans, dress shirts, ties, capris, t-shirts, suits, and dresses are all seen on any given Sunday. Whatever you wear, you will be welcome.
We are a church for everyday people. You can come as you are to connect with God in a way that makes sense. Whether you’re exploring the Christian faith or a church regular, there’s something for you.
