Would Like to Become a Member
[/vc_column_text][vc_column_text]If you’ve been thinking, praying, searching and hoping for a place to belong, and believe you have found that at Varnell UMC, we invite you to become a part of our family in Christ.
Membership can mean something different in each church. At Varnell UMC, we believe that there comes a time when your faith journey will be strengthened by taking a public vow of commitment to a community of believers where you can grow in your faith. This does not mean that you have to believe a specific set of beliefs or that you have it all figured out. What it does mean is that you are willing to share your prayers, your presence, your gifts, your service, and your witness with the community and on behalf of the community, in the world. In return, the community of faith shares those same things with you! We believe that we are stronger together than we are alone.
Membership at Varnell UMC is open to all who have been baptized and have professed their faith in God, in Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Spirit. Because we believe in the unity of all of Christ’s Church (regardless of denomination), we recognize all Christian baptisms, and baptized persons are never asked to be rebaptized at Varnell UMC.
If you are interested in joining this community of faith, let the pastor or one of the church staff members know your desire to join into membership. You can speak to the pastor in person, through email, or by calling the church office. The pastor will contact you and set a time to sit down with you (and your family) and discuss your decision. During this discussion a Sunday date will be chosen when you will be invited to join by coming forward during one of the worship services, where the pastor will introduce you, ask you about joining, and pray for you.[/vc_column_text][vc_empty_space][/vc_column][/vc_row]
