Tammy Ferguson Burek was born in Bassett, Virginia, a small town in southwestern Virginia, in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Tammy grew up in the Methodist faith. Her father and mother, Thomas and Frances Ferguson, were both very active in the Methodist church throughout their lives. Tammy has three sisters and one brother. She graduated with a Bachelor’s Degree from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia. From there, she worked at Goodwill Industries in Washington, D.C. in their Public Relations Department, and later worked for 15 years at Pepsi Cola Company in Maryland in their Accounting, Human Resources and Safety Departments. During this time, she raised a daughter, Jessica. Today, Tammy enjoys spending time with Jessica, her little kitty Grease, walking, reading, theater, singing and dancing. She loves Jesus the most, and knows He has always had a hand in her life from childhood. One of her favorite verses is: “Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10
